Welcome to a preview of Colorado’s 21st annual Governor’s Invitational Art Show and Sale. In the following pages we offer a glimpse of some of the artworks in this year’s exhibit, on view at the Loveland Museum/Gallery in Loveland, CO, this month. The show offers a smorgasbord of visual delights including paintings, sculptures, and fine-art craft by 54 artists.
With a new director and curator, Sandra Wilson, the show promises a fresh look at Colorado’s artistic talent. New to the invitational this year, according to Wilson, are woodblock prints, etchings, and lithographs. “I find myself in the wonderful position of being able to build on a successful art exhibit filled with strong traditions that support Colorado arts and artists. The opportunity of combining innovation with these traditions creates an exciting exhibition,” says Wilson, a former Denver gallery owner and art consultant.
The show is presented by the Loveland Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Thompson Valley and is on display April 29-June 9, with a gala opening reception on Saturday, April 28. Find out more at www.governorsartshow.org.
