Idaho
Art Education: I studied at Brigham Young University Idaho, where I was mentored by some outstanding artists, including Leon Parson and Brian Astle.
Style: I love painting and drawing animals. I do my best to draw them accurately while also implementing good design principles. I love being able to imply detail in my paintings.
Creative Spark: I love rural areas and spending time in nature observing wildlife.
Second-Choice Career: A wildlife ecologist or an agribusiness consultant.
Other Passions: Hunting, fishing, shooting, gardening, and doing home-improvement projects. I am also passionate about sustainable agriculture.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: My wife and I both speak Russian. After high school, I spent two years in Russia as a Christian missionary. While there I met my wife, who was also serving as a missionary.
Best Advice Received: Hard work will outperform talent every time.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: SUMMER SPOILS by Dustin Van Wechel.
Future Goals: The most important thing to me is to provide for my children and raise them to be good, productive citizens. Beyond that I want to become a world-class artist, buy some land, build a studio, and be self-sufficient. After I get out of the military, I want to travel with my wife.
Price Range: $550 to $5,499.
