Art Education: I started at Dallas Community College. Since then I have continued my studies, including with Daniel Keys at the Scottsdale Artists’ School in Arizona.
Style: The way I convey my message depends on my subject, which typically has me working between deconstructed and lifelike forms.
Second-Choice Career: Since my husband is studying to be an attorney, it would be a fun experience to be a courtroom sketch artist. It would force
me to think quickly, nail a likeness, and best of all, the models are free.
Other Passions: I enjoy working with my hands, and I love art supplies, so naturally I find myself making my own sometimes.
Biggest Fear: Roaches. And—since I need more than a lifetime to paint all the beautiful things that inspire me—I am fearful of time creeping up on me.
Pet Peeve: Dipping my brush into my coffee. Thinking I had a clean painting session only to realize I managed to get paint on the floor, the bed, the cats, the dog, and everywhere else.
Favorite Studio Music: I must have healthy doses of salsa and anything else that keeps the blood flow going.
Future Goals: I would like to give back to the community that has provided such support and guidance to me.
