Art Education: I elected to pursue my education through workshops rather than traditional art school. I have studied with Robert Liberace, Tina Garrett, and Sherrie McGraw.
Style: I love using abstract elements to enhance a representational subject.
Creative Spark: Observing exquisite light on the human face and figure. I am especially fascinated by exploring a variety of edges, from the contours of a person’s limb to the branches of a tree. Seeing this done masterfully in other artists’ works inspires me.
Second-Choice Career: Ballet dancer.
Other Passions: Traveling, baking, and reading about theology and trauma. I also enjoy playing the piano, singing with my family, road trips, hiking, clouds, and fashion.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I love koala bears. When I was 11, I drew countless comics of a koala character doing all sorts of things like swinging, baking, and going on adventures.
Best Advice Received: More important than the subject is how the subject is painted.
Pet Peeve: A cluttered room.
Mantra or Motto: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Favorite Studio Music: Claude Debussy and Ben Rector.
Future Goals: One of my greatest dreams is to have a solo show at Arcadia Contemporary in Pasadena, CA.
Price Range: $500 to $1,500.
