Florida
Art Education: BFA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
Style: I am most inspired by nature and the Impressionists.
Creative Spark: A great day hiking at a state park or trail.
Second-Choice Career: I started out drawing caricatures at a local theme park, which helped me develop my life-drawing skills. It’s a fusion of fine art and exaggeration. I always wanted to be an astronaut as a kid, but my math skills are subpar.
Other Passions: I’m a distance runner. I live for the thrill of competition and have always been involved with sports. I also enjoy hiking, road trips, reading, and cooking.
Best Advice Received: Always give your best effort because that ultimately shows what you are all about.
Pet Peeve: When people drive slow in the left lane.
Mantra or Motto: From runner David Goggins, “Life is one big tug-of-war between mediocrity and trying to find your best self.”
Favorite Work by Another Artist: PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST’S MOTHER by Pablo Picasso. To think that he was only 15 years old when he created that pastel portrait is amazing. While in school, I once picked up a book of John Singer Sargent’s watercolors and was mesmerized. It’s what really inspired me to start landscape painting.
Future Goals: To create a solid body of landscapes for an exhibition.
Price Range: $150 to $3,000.
