Art Education: I took my first formal art class at age 15. I spent many hours in the studio over the next five years. I thought I would figure out painting and move on to something else, but here I am, still trying to understand and employ different techniques and styles. Currently I attend a weekly art class while studying the great masters in the evenings after my three kids are in bed.
Style: Representational.
Second-Choice Career: Interior designer or gourmet doughnut baker.
Other Passions: Walking through old houses and cemeteries, collecting vintage clothing, picking huckleberries, going to estate sales with my mom and sisters, and watching my children create still-life setups all on their own and set to work drawing them.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: My first commission, at age 14, was for a biker gang. I created a poster portraying a biker with Satan behind him as he drives toward the pearly gates. Also, I cannot snap my fingers or wink.
Biggest Fear: When walking in the woods I always ask myself, “Could there be a mountain lion following me?” Also, puppets and Claymation characters make me extremely uncomfortable.
Pet Peeve: Clutter, specifically junk mail lying around.
Price Range: $150 to $1,500.
Representation: Angel Gallery Fine Art & Antiques, Coeur d’Alene, ID.
