Art Education: I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. I have also taken workshops with artists such as Leslie Duke, Josh Clare, J. Kirk Richards, and Katie Liddiard.
Style: Contemporary representational.
Second-Choice Career: Illustrator or pastry chef.
Other Passions: Anything to do with food—baking, cooking, and eating it. I also love to run, meditate, and be outside as much as possible.
Best Advice Received: I’ve had several successful artists tell me the same thing about having a career as a painter: It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. So, the sooner you learn to enjoy the journey, the happier you’ll be.
Pet Peeve: Gum smackers, and people who chew loudly with their mouths open. It drives me up a wall quickly.
Quirkiest Trait: I can fall asleep in four minutes, tops, so pretty much on command. It’s really a superpower rather than a quirk.
Mantra or Motto: “God made me fast. And when I run, I feel his pleasure.” It’s from the film Chariots of Fire. I have yet to see it, but ever since I heard it from Josh Clare a few months ago, I can’t get it out of my head.
Future Goals: I’d like to expand my subject matter into more figurative subjects and interior environments.
Price Range: $100 to $1,600.
Representation: Meyer Gallery, Park City, UT; Stellers Gallery, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; www.ashleyglazier.com.
