Connecticut
Art Education: In the beginning it was just me learning from YouTube videos. But then I was given an amazing opportunity to study under a mentor, master pastelist Claudia Post, in her Connecticut atelier.
Style: Realism. Whether the subject matter is an animal or person, for me it’s about capturing the essence of who they are and bringing it all to life on paper.
Creative Spark: I’m inspired by someone who has character and by certain songs, quotes, and movies.
Second-Choice Career: If I had to choose a different career path, it would probably be in the culinary department, specifically pastry.
Other Passions: Baking.
Best Advice Received: “Have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life others expect from you.”
Biggest Fear: I would say my biggest fear is not being able to follow my passions and dreams.
Pet Peeve: Being called away from the easel when I’m in the zone.
Mantra or Motto: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
Favorite Studio Music: I listen to a range of music in the studio. Sometimes what I listen to depends on what I’m drawing. But it’s usually Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: Really anything by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. But if I had to choose one of his works, it would be THE LITTLE KNITTER.
Future Goals: I only work in pastel and charcoal. I would love to add oil paint to the list. I would also like to start my own atelier program.
Price Range: $500 to $8,000.
Representation: Salmagundi Club, New York, NY.
