Art Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts from Clemson University in Clemson, SC.
Style: Contemporary realism.
Creative Spark: Meeting a new breed of dog or horse, art walks, and capturing great photos to paint from in my new home state of Montana.
Second-Choice Career: Food critic. Seriously, I love food.
Other Passions: Hiking in Montana, movies, and food.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I used to have a pet sugar glider (a small possum) named Zeek. I would take him to class in college, and he would sleep in my pocket or hood.
Best Advice Received: “The only disability in life is a bad attitude,” from Dabo Swinney, Clemson University football coach.
Pet Peeve: Slow drivers in the left lane.
Quirkiest Trait: Ever since I was young, I would smell my hands to make sure they smelled okay. If they smelled bad, I would make a face and wash them as soon as possible.
Mantra or Motto: I just try to be the best version of myself for God, my family, and my friends.
Favorite Studio Music: Usually indie stations. And I am obsessed with the new A Star is Born movie album. Lady Gaga is incredible.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: Jimmy Dyer’s western mountain landscapes are stunning.
Future Goals: To paint full time by the age of 30, have more gallery representation, and give more to animal-related charities.
Price Range: $800 to $5,900.
Representation: Reinert Fine Art, Charleston, SC; Crown Gallery, Blowing Rock, NC; www.amberrsampson.com.
