Colorado

Art Education: Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine art from Pensacola Christian College in Florida.

Style: Representational.

Creative Spark: Anything that strikes me as beautiful in its setting. This could be anything from a broken-down old barn in a quiet field at sunset to an arrangement of summer flowers to a child quietly reading a book.

Other Passions: Growing in my relationship with God, spending time with family, running, hiking, camping, entertaining, reading, cooking, gardening, antiquing, and playing the piano.

One Thing Most People Don’t Know About You: I grew up as the oldest of five sisters, and while we can still be as girly as ever, my dad made sure we would be tough, too. I can shingle a roof and throw hay bales with the best of guys.

Best Advice Received: Never stop looking at good art. The more you study other good artists’ work, the better your own will become.

Biggest Fear: Wasting my life.

Favorite Work by Another Artist: Kathy Anderson’s SUMMER CUTTING GARDEN, Brian Jekel’s HEALING OF A BLIND MAN, Robert Duncan’s A MORNING HUG, Richard Schmid’s SNOW MAPLES.
