Young artist to watch in 2022
State in Which You Reside: Arizona.
Art Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts in communication arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020.
Style: Natural realism. My hope is to capture a sense of visual realism combined with the more ephemeral aspects of experiencing often-unfathomable landscapes.
Creative Spark: Some places just put you in total awe, where all you can do is bask in the grandeur. My creative spark is often driven from a place of wonder.
Second-Choice Career: Working in the outdoor recreation industry in some capacity.
Other Passions: Anything that gets me outside, playing the guitar, writing, yoga, geology, and moments of stillness.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I really love Celtic music.
Best Art Advice Received: “Making it” in the arts is hard, so don’t bet against yourself.
Biggest Fear: Stagnation.
Pet Peeve: Being watched while I cook.
Quirkiest Trait: When faced with genuine fear or stress, I fall into fits of uncontrollable laughter.
Mantra or Motto: “Grant me the courage to release what no longer serves me.”
Favorite Studio Music: Brandi Carlile, podcasts, and audiobooks.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: CLIFFS OF GREEN RIVER by Thomas Moran.
Future Goals: Rowing the Grand Canyon; progressing as a skier; boating new rivers; steady gallery representation; plein-air painting in the Tetons; building a studio space; and creating 24 new portfolio pieces in 2022.
Price Range: $700 to $5,000.
