From: California.
Art Education: I received my BFA in studio art from Oklahoma City University, studied on my own through websites, and apprenticed with painter John Burton. I am currently studying for my MFA in painting at Laguna College of Art & Design.
Style: Representational, leaning towards impressionism.
Creative Spark: I am inspired by colors and shapes created by light in nature. And I love the lines and shapes that make up a person’s facial expression.
Second-Choice Career: Own an art gallery or a thrift shop with curated clothes.
Other Passions: I love music, fashion, food, and traveling, and experiencing it all alongside my life and painting partner, Mason Williams.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I was a percussionist in high school.
Best Advice Received: When you start a painting, throw everything you know out the window. Your reference has all the information you need.
Pet Peeve: When my clothes or hands are damp, and dealing with impatient or negative people.
Mantra or Motto: Take a deep breath, and don’t take anything too seriously.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: Any of Joaquín Sorolla’s artwork makes me swoon.
Future Goals: To travel the world, show my work in the Prix de West Invitational, and continue painting for the rest of my days.
Price Range: $90 to $4,500.
