Colorado
Art Education: Bachelor of science in visual arts and a master’s degree in fine arts from Pensacola Christian College in Florida. I studied under Brian Jekel.
Style: Narrative representational.
Creative Spark: Most of my inspiration comes from my upbringing on a farm in Kansas. I strive to capture memories and moments of the simple life, a hard work ethic, family ties, and the beauty of God’s creation. Sometimes creative sparks come from a child’s gesture, early evening lighting, a brilliant sunset, or another artist’s masterpiece.
Other Passions: Farm life, enjoying the outdoors, preserving our American heritage, and spending time with the people I love.
One Thing Most People Don’t Know About You: Alone in the car or at my easel, you’ll always find me humming a tune. I love singing when nobody’s listening.
Best Advice Received: The goal for each painting should be to make it the best painting you’ve ever done.
Biggest Fear: That I’ll clean my brush in my coffee instead of in the thinner by mistake.
Quirkiest Trait: Close friends say I zone out. Truthfully, I’m just zoning in on my newest project or studying the environment, mentally mixing colors and values.
Price Range: $250 to $4,500.
