California
Art Education: I began by reading art books, drawing, and painting in almost all mediums. In 2007 I moved to Southern California and met artists Jeremy Lipking, Sergio Sanchez, Sean Cheetham, and others. I studied, took workshops, and learned from this handful of painters. I eventually was able to study at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.
Style: Contemporary representational.
Creative Spark: Experiencing any form of art has really become something of a spark for me—film, drawing, and painting are all moving, exciting, and inspiring.
Second-Choice Career: I would love to make music, work in the film industry, and write.
Other Passions: Hiking across mountains, swimming in the ocean—almost any outdoor activity.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I spent my entire youth skateboarding and snowboarding.
Mantra or Motto: Work hard, stay focused, paint all day, and try to stay away from mind-killing television.
Favorite Studio Music: I listen to almost every kind of music in my studio. I’m a huge fan of the soundtracks from Quentin Tarantino films.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: Every new painting I see by Jeremy Lipking strikes me like a ton of bricks in such a positive way.
Price Range: $975 to $10,000.
Representation: Waterhouse Gallery, Santa Barbara, CA; Sullivan Goss, Santa Barbara, CA.
