California
Art Education: I am currently earning my bachelor’s degree in painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I graduate next May.
Style: Impressionistic realism.
Creative Spark: Being outdoors, seeing beautiful natural scenes, and interesting lighting effects or shadow patterns.
Second-Choice Career: If I had to choose something, it might be a custom framer. It’s still very creative and results in something beautiful and unique.
Other Passions: I’m passionate about animals. I own two horses and spend time caring for them every day.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I have been a vegetarian since I was 8 years old.
Pet Peeve: When strangers want to talk to me about my name. When you have an unusual name, for some reason people are compelled to tell you what it means in every language. One woman even went so far as to tell me it should be spelled differently.
Favorite Studio Music: I tend to play movies or television shows while I work. I like the conversations, music, and comedy they provide, rather than listening to music alone.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: A favorite piece that has sentimental value for me is Tamara de Lempicka’s GIRL WITH GLOVES. I love the Art Deco period, and it was one of the first paintings that really struck me. Other artists I am inspired by include Clyde Aspevig, Robert Bateman, and William Wendt.
Price Range: $100 to $1,500.
