From: Virginia.
Art Education: I’ve been blessed to have a resource like the internet with its countless instructional videos by great artists like Casey Baugh, Scott Christensen, Josh Clare, and the late Richard Schmid. And I am grateful to have a grandmother who was a university art professor. She invested so much of her time and resources into me and my career. She taught me about fundamentals from an early age.
Style: Representational.
Creative Spark: Going outdoors, having solitary time to think, watching movies that I can relate to, and both seeing and listening to masterful work by others.
Second-Choice Career: Navy SEAL.
Other Passions: Running, hiking, and being with friends. I’m a gym rat, and I’m always trying to push myself physically. I recently hiked a 32-mile section of the Appalachian Trail.
Best Advice Received: From John Wooten, “Don’t look for big, quick improvement. Seek the small improvement one day at a time.”
Biggest Fear: Having lived a long life only to realize I left so much potential on the table.
Quirkiest Trait: I don’t like sharing food from my plate.
Mantra or Motto: Win the day.
Favorite Studio Music: Logic, Grover Washington Jr., Kenny G, and Stevie Wonder.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: THE RETURN FROM FISHING by Joaquín Sorolla.
Price Range: $150 to $9,600.
Representation: The Little Gallery, Roanoke, VA; www.anthonybowes.net.
