With the holiday gift-giving season just around the corner, Evergreen Fine Art hosts its annual Angel Tea on September 21—an all-day event that features the unveiling of this year’s newly designed angel pendant. The launch of the yearly design is part of a longstanding gallery tradition dating back to 1993. This year, for the first time, gallery owners Phil Shanley and Barb Hadley conducted a nationwide contest for the winning design and received entries from across the country before awarding honors to Susan Gurganus from Raleigh, NC. The contest is now scheduled to be an annual event, and information about the 2013 competition is on the gallery’s website.
In addition to this year’s angel design, there are more than 30 other unique designs from past years available for purchase, including some pieces featuring colorful gemstones. Each pendant, which can also be worn on a charm bracelet, is cast in either sterling silver or 14-karat gold and packaged in a drawstring velvet or satin jewelry bag. Shipping and custom-written messages for gift purchases are also available through the gallery. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the Evergreen Angel is donated to Mount Evans Hospice in Evergreen. —Bonnie Gangelhoff
