Colorado Artists

Lisa Camilla Hale, Long’s Shadow, pastel, 18 x 24.

Colorado is known as the Centennial State because it entered the Union in 1876, exactly 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. But Colorado might well be called the Creative State, because it’s chock-full of artistic talent. It’s a hub for sculptors, especially in and around the city of Loveland, where foundries and public installations abound and where the giant Sculpture in the Park show takes place each summer. And it’s full of painters, too—many drawn by the scenic Rocky Mountain landscape, others by the creative community itself. Enjoy the sampling of artwork from Colorado artists in the following pages.
