By Bonnie Gangelhoff
ART EDUCATION: Bachelor of fine arts from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA.
STYLE: Contemporary impressionist or “new American realist.”
MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT THE WAY YOU WORK: I think it’s always different and changing. I don’t have any one way of doing things. It all depends on the piece. I like to let layers dry so that they peek through as I build more and more layers.
SECOND-CHOICE CAREER: Graphic designer. That is what I do for my day job now. I would consider going back to school for finance. I like to follow the stock market, which is completely the opposite of art.
BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: Don’t worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will worry about itself. Keep your focus and don’t stress about the future. And from Chuck Close: “Inspiration is for amateurs. I just get to work.”
CREATIVE SPARK: I am inspired by anything and everything. I don’t have any one subject matter. Inspiration is just around the corner.
ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU: I am very analytical. I’m equally right-brained and left-brained.
FUTURE GOALS: Painting full time.
PRICE RANGE: $500 to $5,000.
