Grand Canyon, AZ | On September 10, artists converge upon the Grand Canyon and begin painting en plein air for the third annual Grand Canyon Celebration of Art. This year’s show expands to include painting along the North Rim of the canyon as well as the South Rim. From September 10 to 14, artists paint on site, with art demonstrations scheduled each day. Friday begins with a Quick Draw from 9 to 11 a.m., and an auction to purchase those paintings follows at 12 p.m. A buyers’ preview and awards reception begins at 7 p.m that evening at Kolb Studio. The paintings are available for sale and remain on display through November 27. Participating artists include Michael Obermeyer, Dave Santillanes, Mark Weber, and Rick Wheeler.
