South Rim Village, AZ | Once again top landscape artists from across the nation spread out along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to capture its timeless beauty. A weeklong invitational event, the second annual Grand Canyon Celebration of Art starts September 11. Among the 30 participating artists are Bruce Aiken, Nancy Denzler, William Scott Jennings, Merrill Mahaffey, Jeanne Mackenzie, P.A. Nisbet, and Curt Walters. Each artist brings a completed studio piece and then creates more artwork on site during Plein Air on the Rim and a Quick Draw event. The awards ceremony takes place at the historic Kolb Studio on Saturday, September 18, when the show and sale opens to the public. It remains on view through November 28.
