Art Education: I studied under my mother, artist Kathleen Schumacher. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Florida’s School of Art + Art History.

Style: Contemporary impressionism.

Creative Spark: I’m inspired by spontaneity, relationships, and the highs of the human experience.

Second-Choice Career: Talk-show host. If I couldn’t make art, at least let me talk about it.

One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I am an Air Force brat. I have moved 12 times and have been to 25 countries.

Best Advice Received: My mom always told me to paint like you own the paint factory. She encouraged me to be fearless. The more paint, the better.

Biggest Fear: Snakes.

Pet Peeve: Intolerance, ignorance, and waiting for oil paint to dry.

Quirkiest Trait: I love cats. My cat, Lucy, and I even have our own art education channel on YouTube called Lucy Loves Art.

Mantra or Motto: From writer Émile Zola, “If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.”

Favorite Studio Music: I listen to Hipster Cocktail Party on Pandora or Barefoot Beach Chill on Google Music.

Favorite Work by Another Artist: Although I admire many artists, my mother is my favorite. She is known for her palette-knife work. She brings to life my childhood memories of growing up in Florida through her waterscapes, wildlife, and floral subjects.

Future Goals: To sell an art piece to Mark Zuckerberg.

Price Range: $500 to $3,500.
