Texas
Art Education: Bachelor of science in visualization from Texas A&M University. I also had the pleasure of studying art in Italy. But my best teacher is my father, Jerry. As an artist and former college art instructor, he continually offers me his undivided attention and honest critiques.
Style: Emotional realism.
Creative Spark: I begin with pure emotions that we experience in our private moments and imagine a story that can express that emotion. When this visual image becomes clear in my mind, I create the pose, build the lighting, commit to a palette, and then work for over 200 hours to bring this feeling to life. I love what I do.
Other Passions: Working out rejuvenates me and provides me with clarity after a long day.
Best Advice Received: When someone can’t do something, they’ll tell you that you can’t do it.
Quirkiest Trait: The combination of having a big build and being
an artist.
Mantra or Motto: Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Favorite Studio Music: My favorite thing to listen to is the Sharpened Artist podcast.
Favorite Work by Another
Artist: CONVERSION OF SAINT PAUL by Caravaggio.
Future Goals: To become one of the great artists of my time and advance colored pencil as a fine-art medium in the process. Through my artwork, I wish to explore and share our raw human emotions and connect with others.
Price Range: $9,800 to $12,000.
Representation: RJD Gallery, Sag Harbor, NY.
