California
Art Education: Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
Style: I feel that labeling what I do limits my freedom to explore my craft.
Creative Spark: My inspiration has become as diverse as the city I live in. Being born in Los Angeles during the ’90s has given me a wide perspective of the world and also a very intimate view of the constant struggle to stand out. I find beauty where others may see decay and poverty. Knowing firsthand what the youth of the inner city go through to make it to another day gives me endless inspiration to capture in my work.
Second-Choice Career: I would probably be a fashion designer. Both of my parents are fashion designers. I was raised in their studio and was surrounded by the creative process. It would be a very natural transition to pick up some fabric instead of a brush.
Other Passions: Music and photography are part of my everyday life.
Best Advice Received: Closed mouths don’t get fed. I believe in speaking up for what I want and for what I stand for. Many opportunities are missed because the people able to provide you with what you want do not know your needs or wishes.
Pet Peeve: People who don’t know what they want.
Future Goals: To make a comfortable living by working as an artist. And for my work to continue to evolve as I explore new subjects and methods. Oh, and to own a Bugatti or two.
Representation: Abend Gallery, Denver, CO.
