Style: I would describe my style as loose, energetic and semi-abstract. I am constantly trying to push visual boundaries and avoid painting exactly what I see.

Creative Spark: The Southwest landscape is my main source of inspiration. Having been born and raised on the East Coast, it’s such a different world than what I grew up in. I love the Joshua trees, cacti and the impressive rock formations. The Southwest also has the best sunsets.

Art Education: Having never attended art school, I consider myself to be 100 percent self-taught. I have been drawing and creating since I was a child.

Best Art Advice Received: Stay true to what YOU want to create. Not everyone will understand or appreciate it, but that’s okay. Filter out all of the noise and focus on what brings you joy and you will eventually reach the right people.

Favorite Studio Music: I’ve curated all of my favorite ’80s music into a Spotify playlist that I listen to on repeat. There’s a lot of The Smiths, Depeche Mode and New Order, to name a few.

Favorite Work by Another Artist: Chanel Kreuzer is a huge inspiration. Her Texas landscapes are beautiful and her loose, semi-abstract style really resonates with me.

Artistic Goals: To be a full-time painter! I currently work full-time as an accountant and paint in my spare time. I’d also love to rent my own studio space and move out of my home office area.

Other Passions: I spend most of my free time with my husband and our German Shepherd, usually going on hikes with them and traveling the Southwest for painting inspiration. I also enjoy reading and drinking boba tea!
