Style: My style is and always has been realism no matter the subject. I’ve never been able to stick to one subject matter in my works; they range from animals to still lifes to landscapes but the all-encompassing factor that I bring to every painting is an intriguing sense of realism that aims to really draw the eye of the viewer.

Creative Spark: I strive toward finding inspiration in all facets of life. I find beauty in so much of the world that it’s difficult for me to go about my daily life and not find something I want to paint! Some days I feel more drawn to landscapes or water, some days it’s portraits. It changes every day but as long as I get out into the world and see the beauty in the little details, I’ll always have that spark.

Art Education: I am completely self-taught and I value that aspect of my artistic journey greatly. Aside from mandatory art classes throughout my upbringing in school, I haven’t sought after a formal education and found that I can better teach myself as opposed to being taught.

Best Art Advice Received: Some of the best advice I’ve received as an artist is simply: just go for it. What I consider my previous successes in my career have all come from just doing the thing, whatever it may be. From entering an art competition, to submitting my work to a gallery, charging forward despite occasional fear of rejection always has a positive outcome if you have the right mindset.

Favorite Studio Music: I tend to listen to podcasts when I’m in the studio more so than music, specifically true crime podcasts which are my guilty pleasure. If not that then I will listen to my favorite musicians like Taylor Swift, CJ Starnes and Juice WRLD to name a few!

Favorite Work by Other Artist: There is a long, long list of artists that inspire me, but one that will always blow my mind is Mark Maggiori. His piece Sacred Sunset is among my absolute favorites of his.

Artistic Goals: Since I’ve become a full-time artist last year, I had achieved my biggest artistic goal and now I’ve moved on to even bigger goals. I’m currently working toward more gallery representation and solo exhibitions.

Other Passions: Being creative is a main part of who I am and it finds its way into every area of my life. My other creative passions are baking, cooking, embroidery, gardening, graphic design, thrifting and traveling.
