21 Under 31 | Alicia Lang

New Jersey charcoal drawing artist

Alicia Lang, Preparing for Battle, charcoal drawing

Alicia Lang, Preparing for Battle, charcoal, 14 x 18.

Art Education: Associate’s degree in fine arts/visual arts from Union County College in Cranford, NJ. Apprenticed at Ani Art Academy Waichulis in Bear Creek Township, PA.
Style: Contemporary realism.
Creative Spark: I am inspired by people I love and experiences I have had in my life that made me the person I am today. But I would have to say I am inspired mostly by my faith.
Second-Choice Career: If I was not an artist, I would probably have gone into filmmaking.
Best Advice Received: To love others as I love myself. If I don’t love myself, I can’t love anyone else. And love is very important in my opinion.
One Thing Most People Don’t Know About You: I love everything about the piano. I love the way it sounds, the way it looks, and how it makes me feel like I’m in a different world. If I had more time, I would play because I do have an ear for it.
Biggest Fear: Living my life without helping or encouraging someone.
Pet Peeve: Loud chewing.
Future Goals: To finish the Ani Art Academy program, open my own school and studio, and continue to paint and draw.
Price Range: $500 to $2,000.
Representation: Scottsdale Fine Art, Scottsdale, AZ; Swain Galleries, Plainfield, NJ; www.alicialangart.net.
