Art Education: My art education includes Scott Christensen’s intensive workshop and countless hours of experimentation before my easel inside and outside the studio.
Style: I would describe my style as representational and painterly. I like to see texture and brushwork in my paintings.
Creative Spark: I enjoy spending time outdoors. My paintings are inspired by what I see and feel around me. My emotional connection with the landscape and the atmosphere compels me to create paintings where the primary subject is light.
Second-Choice Career: I worked as a software engineer before I became a full-time artist. Ever since I made this career switch, there has been no looking back. I cannot imagine any profession other than fine art. I do not have a backup plan.
Biggest Fear: Losing my loved ones.
Pet Peeve: Being late for any personal or professional appointment.
Mantra or Motto: Never be afraid of failure. Follow your passion and never give up.
Favorite Studio Music: I enjoy listening to classical Indian instrumental music. However, I often lose track of what I’m listening to as I get engrossed in painting.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: Anything painted by Edgar Payne and John Singer Sargent. My favorite living legends are Scott Christensen, Clyde Aspevig, Daniel Gerhartz, Jeremy Lipking, Sherrie McGraw, and the list goes on.
Future Goals: Continue to evolve as an artist, get into more galleries, teach workshops, travel to Europe, and own my studio space someday.
Price Range: $250 to $2,000.
