California

Art Education: Bachelor of fine arts in painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Style: Contemporary impressionism.

Creative Spark: Color. When I see beautiful color, I am immediately inspired. It doesn’t matter where or what I see it in; it just gives me that instant creative spark.

Second-Choice Career: Interior design. I graduated from high school early and started classes at my local junior college. I took an introduction to interior design class and had a great time.

Other Passions: Music. I think music and art go hand in hand. I wish I could play an instrument, but I have never quite had the patience. I do love to sing.

One Thing Most People Don’t Know About You: I have a love for cows, and I dream of owning two someday. You can’t have only one; you don’t want it to get lonely.

Best Advice Received: Do what you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Pet Peeve: Being late. It gives me anxiety.

Quirkiest Trait: I went straight to my husband for this one. His response was, “What’s a quirky trait that you don’t have?”

Favorite Work by Another Artist: Wayne Thiebaud. Anything he touches turns to gold in my eyes.

Representation: Abend Gallery, Denver, CO; Elliott Fouts Gallery, Sacramento, CA; Healdsburg Center for the Arts, Healdsburg, CA; www.samanthabuller.com.
