Dan Beck Wins Top Award at OPA

A Warm Breeze by Dan Beck

Devin Galleries, located in the scenic resort town of Coeur d’Alene, ID, hosted the National Juried Exhibition of the Oil Painters of America on June 11. The annual show unfolded at the gallery with a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd eyeing paintings by more than 170 artists from across the country. Later that evening, the artists gathered in the conference room at the nearby Coeur d’Alene Resort for the awards ceremony. Denver-based painter Dan Beck took home the Gold Medal Award and $25,000 for his evocative figurative painting “A Warm Breeze.” Other top awards went to CW Mundy, Sherrie McGraw, Charles Movalli, Elizabeth Pollie, and Marc Hanson. The OPA show is on view through July 9. –Bonnie Gangelhoff
