Dolores is a member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma and has been involved and invited to some of the finest Native art shows in the US. Dolores listened to many of the stories passed down from her ancestors and will draw and paint some of these old stories. She is an accomplished award winning mask maker and one of a few women ledger artist. Being a wife and mother Dolores worked in a career outside the art world for many years. In 2000, she began to actively pursue her passion and new career by being accepted into some of the finest shows in the country. "I have researched the Southern Cult culture of the mound builders and have found gourds to be an excellent vehicle to represent masks found within the mound sites". The Caddo People are directly related to the ancient mound people. Dolores has also found ledger art as a new passion. She enjoys working in a historical medium with a contemporary subjects. Dolores is a regular at the Santa Fe Indian Market in Santa Fe New Mexico, Native Treasures in Santa Fe, Eiteljorg Indian Market in Indianapolis and Haskell Indian Market in Lawrence Kansas. Dolores has spoke at the NMAI - Smithsonian on her masks and gourd dolls. She also has her work in the Pendleton Catalog with her Spirit ponies series.
