Growing up in the mountains of West Virginia permanently burned the beauty of nature and the landscape in my mind. A career as a management consultant gave me the opportunity to travel globally and to visit many of the great museums of the western world. While my view of the beauty of the landscape has broadened it is still in the forefront of my mind. The landscapes of Texas, the American West, the Gulf Coast, the mountains of West Virginia and the beauty from around the world are all waiting to be painted. The outdoors provides a wonderful source of beauty both abstract and representational. My job is to portray that beauty and the abstract layer of delight with a real sense of space and light in the rich colors there for us all to see. I graduated from West Virginia University and The Ohio State University. I have pursued a self directed art education; studying with Richard Kelver, a Texas artist, at The Arts Alliance Center, and at the Glassell School of Art at The Museum of Fine Arts Houston. I have had the privilege to study landscape painting with John Cosby and Scott Christensen I am honored to have received the Award for Third Place in The National Society of Artists 2007 Spring Show in the Professional Category in Oil.
