ART EDUCATION: Bachelor of fine arts, Brigham Young University, Rexburg, ID.
STYLE: Impressionistic landscapes.
MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT THE WAY YOU WORK: I’m more comfortable working from life than from photos. It’s usually the other way around.
SECOND-CHOICE CAREER: I started in graphic design and illustration. When I was little, I wanted to be an animator at Disney. I think it would be cool to work at Pixar.
BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: From Bill Anton. He said, “Get out and paint from life. Take your act outside whenever you can.”
CREATIVE SPARK: Being outside is the biggest spark. Whenever I go on a drive or a hike, I get really excited about what I see. I am a dangerous driver because I’m always trying to take pictures. It drives my wife crazy.
ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU: I served a proselytizing mission to Japan.
FUTURE GOALS: I want to be the very best I can possibly be and make a good painting someday.
PRICE RANGE:
$500 to $7,500.
