Welcome to Southwest Art’s annual spotlight on emerging artists. One of our most popular features since it debuted in 2000, it has helped launch the careers of more than 250 young artists. This year’s honorees hail from 11 states, from New York to California. The artists share their unique backgrounds (one gave up his law career to pursue fine art), hopes for the future (one is currently studying veterinary medicine while also creating her artworks), some of their greatest fears (student loans, water bugs), as well as some of their least known secrets (one artist is legally blind, another hard of hearing due to a hereditary condition).
We invite you to peruse the links below and help us celebrate the bright futures of these rising stars.
