It took some time, but Marine, who majored in art at the University of Texas, is now living her parents’ credo. She found unexpected happiness—and success—with her commitment to paint one painting every day. “Painting fast has been so freeing,” says Marine, 30, who lives in Harper, TX, with her husband. “Creating a painting every day has kicked everything into high gear for me.”
Inspired by artists as diverse as Burt Silverman and Harley Brown, Marine says she is endlessly fascinated by shapes and colors. “I like round and shiny things, and fun colors and combinations. Fruits and vegetables work well with my one-painting-a-day approach, which lends itself to simple subjects.”
She is represented by Wally Workman Gallery, Austin, TX; Twinhouse Gallery, Atlanta, GA; Corse Gallery & Atelier, Jacksonville, FL; West End Gallery, Provincetown, MA; www.bluecloudstudios.com.
